The Raisin Administrative Committee is a federal marketing order, led by 47 growers, packers and a public members. The RAC is directly overseen by the United States Department of Agriculture and was created in 1949 as a result of the Agricultural Marketing Agreement Act of 1937.

The Raisin Administrative Committee meets regularly at our headquarters in downtown Fresno, employs a staff of 13, collects and distributes delivery data weekly, shipment data monthly, publishes an annual report of industry statistics and policies, actively and directly markets into 15 foreign nations, and collaborates with the USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service.

RAISIN DEVELOPMENT CONTEST

      On June, 12th The Raisin Administrative Committee hosted a dinner recognizing the countries; Japan, China, Germany, and Mexico in a product development contest to help increase raisin consumption in these countries. This contest has been held for 25 years and has been a fun way to bring up new products for consumers. The winners of the California Raisin Development Contest were honored and recognized for their delicious and unique baked goods. The Raisin Bargaining Association has approached the Jordan College of Agriculture at California State University, Fresno, to help create a culinary program that will increase raisin consumption in California with new products and recipes.
